About Me

It just occurred to me that I don't have an "About Me" page and when I go to a new blog that is one of the pages I like to check out.  I like to see who it is that is writing a blog.

So let me introduce myself.

Hi, I am Gretchen.  I am a native Hoosier and no, I still don't know exactly what a Hoosier is. I have been blogging since 2008.  I blog for myself as a way to keep things together and to share ideas and things with anyone who is interested. I just started a paleo journey and I've been on it for a year.  Its changed my life in amazing ways.  Never did I think what the food I ate could have power over my moods and emotional well being but it can and did.  Now that I'm paleo I'm not only physically healthier, I am mentally and emotionally healthier too!

I am married.  My husband and I have been married for almost 15 years.  He doesn't actually read my blog unless I tell him to read a certain post.  He is pretty great and I am extremely thankful for him.  We met at Wal-mart when we were both working there going to separate colleges.  I was a cashier and he worked in produce.  It used to make me so nervous when he would go through my line.  My grandpa always said you can get everything at Wal-mart.  And now we don't even shop there - ironic.

I have four wonderful kiddos. I love being home.  I love almost everything about home.  I don't love cleaning toilets or putting away the dishes from the dishwasher day after day but hey, I am willing to make the sacrifice.

I love Jesus.  I love grace.  I want to love people.  I'm working on that one.

I'm a fan of chocolate in all forms.  I love living in Indiana because you can get to a lot of good places quickly.  I heart the interstate.

I love the beach and I want to see it every.single.year if possible.  I don't really want to live there full time, but I do need to see and smell the ocean for a good 10 days at least once a year.

I actually love driving a mini van.

Well, that is all I can think of for now.  Hope you enjoyed this peak into my crazy world.
