My Accidental Garden

Since I thought our house was selling I didn't do much gardening this year.  BUT last year I made a kind of compost pile by throwing plants over our fence.

And this year - this happened:

Do you see that - pumpkin vines galore and tomatoes too!  Our neighbor told us she had been watering it and it is going crazy.  Of course we have squash bugs like crazy as usual but we still managed to have about 5 or 6 nice looking pumpkins with a ton more coming on.   The following pictures are kind of a "Where's Waldo" of pumpkins.  See if you can spot them:)

There is a tomato hiding in there.

I have to say I am always amazed by gardening.  I am amazed that you plant a tiny seed and you get all of this produce.  I am even more amazed when you "throw away" plants and you get this the next year.  God is truly amazing, isn't He?

  1. That is so cool. I read somewhere that someone threw some potato peels in the yard and later some potato plants started growing from them. I wonder if that's true?

Its worth a try. I might make my compost pile bigger and see what else we can get next year.
