Its What's for Breakfast

I have seen this before on other blogs, but I have never tried it until now.  This breakfast encompasses some of my family's favorite things - eggs, bacon and toast.  Only this is an even easier way for kids to eat their eggs because they can actually pick it up like a sandwich.  I don't know if this qualifies as a recipe or not, but oh well.

Eggs in Toast

Eggs
Bread
Salt and Pepper to taste
Butter to fry with

Take a biscuit cutter and cut a whole in your bread.

Now melt some butter in your skillet and place the bread in there.  I actually cracked the eggs in a Pyrex measuring cup before I put them in the bread.  I poured one egg at a time in the middle of the bread.  I prefer my yokes broken, but you don't have to do that if you don't want to.  I salted and peppered them and then turned them over to fry on the other side.  I also toasted the inside of the bread and served that as well.

Once you are done then just serve this along side some bacon and fruit.  And is there really anything much better than skillet toast anyway?  I grew up with skillet toast because that is how my grandma made it in the cast iron skillet and I still love it that way!

  2. You know, I've never tried this either. But p.s. I'd need about 7 more pieces of bacon on MY plate! :)

  3. I eat "egg in a hole" all the time. :) I use my heart-shaped cookie cutter, though.
