Its Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Every year for the last couple of years we have this fun little tradition.  On a certain night (one of my choosing) about 8 or 9 o'clock when most of us are in our pajamas and I will announce that we all need to get into our van to drive around our neighborhood.

There is this certain house in our neighborhood - it happens to be the biggest one - that goes all out when it comes to Christmas lights.  It isn't tacky, it is very well done and he also asks for donations for the local food pantry.  You can see this house from the main road because of how many lights it has on it.

Every year we get in the van and I don't even make the kids wear shoes.  I go slowly around our neighborhood to look at the lights.  Another house in our neighborhood also puts his lights to music.  We park in front of that house and tune our radio to the right station and watch the lights put to music.

Then we move onto THE house.  The back is even better, but I did not get a picture of that.

But this year the next door neighbor to this house did this:

Isn't that hilarious?

So do you have any fun traditions that you do like this one?

  1. It's a tradition for us to drive around looking at Christmas lights too. Watching the older Christmas movies such as Frosty The Snowman, The Little Drummer Boy and Rudolf The Red-Nosed Reindeer is another tradition for us.

I love the last picture you posted, that's something I would do. :)
