Helping the Joplin tornado victims
If you are around Indy, the Red Cross is having a drive-through collection event for the victims of Sunday's deadly tornado in Joplin, Mo.
"The Colts will team up with Lucas Oil Products and the American Red Cross of Greater Indianapolis to host a drive-through collection at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center at 7001 W. 56th Street from 2-7 p.m. on Tuesday.
The only items that will be accepted are cases of bottled water, packages of new disposable diapers and cash or checks made payable to the Red Cross of Greater Indianapolis." From the IndyChannel.com.
Those who can't take part in Tuesday's drive are asked to support relief efforts online at www.redcross-indy.org.
If you aren't in Indy check out the RedCross.org to see how you could help. And if nothing else, please keep praying.

Just left our church. I almost had a breakdown in the parking lot. MASSIVE amounts of donations have poured in last night and today. We have upto 3 semi trucks ready to leave tonight if they can be filled up. Many of our staff went to college in Joplin. It left me speechless to see what could be done in less than 2 days. We've been talking about being "the church" outside the walls of our building and I think it FINALLY has soaked in and hearts are being changed.
ReplyDeleteTracye - that is so wonderful! I am in awe of people coming together and blessing others in times of crisis.
ReplyDeleteEnded up loading four trucks full and over $10,000 cash. Most amazing thing I have seen in a very long time. Supplies were delivered to a church command center this afternoon. Our coordinator sent a few pictures, but the one of Wal-mart stunned me the most after reading your survival story. Unreal!
